PHILIP A STRANGE CHILD

The Childhood of Philip or 44783 as I am also known. These are the records of an eight year old boy who was put into care in the mid 1960s, at the Highfield Branch of the National Children's Home, Harpenden Herts.

File number 44783 is shown at the end of this site, and explains the reasons why the child was placed into the care of the NCH.

The slight problem exists is that some records are basic and give only an adults view of the child.

To help future researchers - as well as the official records of the Home, I (the boy) will give my own thoughts as to why the official records give the impression that a small boy should seem so awkward, clumsy and at odds with the world.
